Eco Shopping: Green Furniture

Jesse Johnson, Q Collection's Chief Executive, says the lofty prices relate to higher material and production costs, which aren't always obvious. "There's a lot you don't see," explains Johnson, who has a degree in environmental management. For example the Abigail's Green credentials include the use of nature jute, not plastic, to secure the springs and the wood in the frame is FSC-certified. And, Cole (Paulette Cole, CEO of ABC Carpets & Home) adds, Q Collection pieces are not just good for the earth, they're "like one-of-a-kind functional art".
